Holiday cheer will officially be here in less than three weeks! A beloved tradition of the holiday season in Seguin officially kicks off with the Holiday Stroll Parade on Thursday, December 5th at 6:30p.m. Area choirs, organizations, bands, royalty, and businesses decorated in holiday gear will stroll through downtown Seguin making spirits bright and spreading the holiday cheer.
Lindsay Hajek, Recreation Superintendent stated, “Thursday, December 5th we'll host the 28th annual Holiday Stroll lighted Parade, a beloved Seguin tradition where residents and visitors can come together to celebrate our community. We'd like to invite participants and spectators to bring their best holiday cheer. Entry for the parade is free, entry forms and parade rules can be found on our website seguintexas.gov/parksandrecreation.”
The floats will start at the intersection of Austin and College streets and head south towards Central Park. Once the parade ends, the Mayor will announce the winners of the parade and the Christmas Tree Decorating Contest. The parade entries will be judged on lighting, creativity, and holiday spirit and a commemorative sign will be presented to the top three overall scorers in Commercial and Non-Commercial categories. Like the parade entries the trees will be judged on originality, theme and creativity and a commemorative sign will be given to the top four scoring entries. Immediately following, the community is invited to stick around for the countdown to the holiday lighting of Central Park. Everyone is excited for the holiday season and even Santa Clause is comin’ to town! Between Santa Clause, live music and entertainment, vendors, late night shopping there will be something for the whole family to enjoy.

The parade is just the start of the three-day Holiday Stroll festivities in downtown.
On Friday, December 6th Sip n’ Stroll with participating downtown merchants sampling hot cocoas from 5:30pm to 8:30pm.
Then Saturday, December 7th bring the family to Central Park for the North Poll Stroll beginning at 10am. The North Pole Stroll will host various children’s events and reindeer games to make sure the children of Seguin get their letters to Santa on time.
