Enjoy a Picnic in Downtown Seguin

Seguin Main Street is glad to bring back a community favorite event – Moonlight & Roses. The evening celebration is scheduled for Friday, April 1 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. in the Memorial Rose Garden inside Walnut Springs Park.

“Moonlight & Roses 2020 was the first event Seguin Main Street canceled during the pandemic, and we are glad that we are able to bring the event back,” said Kyle Kramm, Seguin Main Street & CVB Director, “This event is very special to Seguin Main Street as it is when we recognize the volunteers, businesses, organizations that have made a lasting impact on downtown during the previous year.”

The Seguin Main Street Program has selected four entities to be recognized with awards at Moonlight & Roses this year. Awards include Downtowner of the Year, Beautification of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, and Dynamic Downtown Business.

In addition to the presentation of the awards, there will be live jazz music from the Gatsby Gang Jazz Band. The band will be playing jazz music from the 1920’s and 1940’s through out the evening. While listening to the music, the public can socialize and enjoy some complimentary desserts. Individuals can bring their beverage of choice to enjoy in the park along with their own lawn chair or blanket.

You can make the evening a picnic in the park by purchasing your very own picnic basket for two. The baskets will include charcuterie, wine glasses, picnic blanket, and rose. The baskets can be purchased for $75.00 via online at https://moonlightandroses2022.eventbrite.com. The proceeds from the picnic baskets will go towards downtown beautification projects.

Additionally, there will be a limited number of commemorative wine glasses for purchase the evening of the event. Raffle tickets will also be for sale throughout the evening to win rose arrangements donated by area florists.

Mark your calendar to join Seguin Main Street on Friday, April 1 in the Memorial Rose Garden for a celebration of downtown’s success, jazz music, and roses.
