Sip 'n Stroll Mugs Go on Sale at Pecan Fest

The 2021 Sip ‘n Stroll mug sales begin on Saturday, October 30 during Seguin’s Fall Trade Days at the annual Pecan Fest in Central Park. The mugs will then be available at downtown merchants starting Monday, November 1 until sold out.

For the eleventh year, the Sip ‘n Stroll mug will feature a historic Seguin landmark, the First Church at Heritage Village. Built in 1849, the First Church was where several denominations got their start in Seguin, the first being the Methodist as it hosted the district convention of Methodist ministers in 1849.

The 2021 Sip ‘n Stroll committee selected artwork submitted by Kaye Koehler, a Seguin native, to be featured on the 2021 mug. The artwork was done in watercolor pencils on a Bristol Board.

Koehler’s skill in art is mostly self-taught. “I love painting wildlife and scenery in acrylic paints on canvas,” said Koehler. “I recently had the opportunity to display a variety of my art at the GRMC art wall.”

Kaye Koehler sits on the front steps of First Church with her artwork and the 2021 Sip 'n Stroll mug.

Though she missed last year’s contest, Koehler’s brother-in-law made sure she saw the opportunity to enter this year. She had the opportunity to visit the First Church several times and take some pictures in order to complete her piece.

Beginning on October 30, the 2021 Sip ‘n Stroll mugs can be purchased for $15.00 at Trade Days and then various local businesses in and around downtown Seguin starting Monday, November 1.

“The mugs have become a collectible with many people purchasing a mug from each year,” said Anna Moreno, a member of the Sip ‘n Stroll Committee, “And we strongly encourage people to purchase their mugs early as we have sold out in the past.”

“We can’t wait to see everyone out at Sip ‘n Stroll and North Pole Stroll again this year,” says Kyle Kramm, Director of Main Street & CVB. “Christmas will be in full swing downtown, so we hope everyone will come out and support our local businesses.”
