For one night a month Seguin’s local downtown merchants stay open late until 8 p.m. for Third Thursdays. Participating businesses will stay open late and offer specials, deals, and sales throughout their store that shoppers can only get during Third Thursdays. The addition of themes each month make shopping that much more fun.
January’s Third Thursday theme is “Ringing in the New Year”, and what better way to kick off 2019 than to get yourself a new outfit or something for the home. As people make their New Year’s resolutions, we also hope that people will resolve to shop local and shop small in 2019. Shopping with Seguin’s downtown merchants is one of the biggest ways to have an impact on Seguin’s economic future.
The fun continues into February as downtown will celebrate “National Sticky Bun Day” on Thursday, February 21. Businesses will be serving cinnamon and caramel rolls or even monkey bread. March’s Third Thursday theme celebrates “Incredible Kid Day.” Bring the kids and treat them to fun and more with the participating businesses. The theme for April is all about showing appreciation for downtown customers with thank you notes and games with merchants.
“This will be our second year of doing Third Thursdays and we think people are really enjoying being able to stroll through downtown shopping with our growing number of retailers,” said Kyle Kramm, Main Street & CVB Director, “Third Thursdays is an excellent opportunity for those who work from 8 to 5 Monday through Friday to be able to come downtown and do some shopping with our local merchants.”
Participating businesses include Bling and Company, Court Street Coffee Shop, Gift & Gourmet, Habitat for Humanity, Hill Country Pharm Haus, Keepers Interiors, Kimber Grace Boutique, Southern Good, The Shop, The Warehouse, Thunderpaws, Tome, Traveling Gypsy, and You’re So Crafty.
