Summer Concert Series preforms Patriotic Tune

June is coming to an end and July is almost here. To get Seguin in the patriotic spirit for the 4th of July the San Antonio Symphonic Band will be here loud and proud on June 30th! The San Antonio Symphonic Band will play a variety of big band music for the concert, with the majority of them celebrating the red, white and blue.

The San Antonio Symphonic Band, "All America City Band" (formerly the San Antonio Municipal Band) was designated by the San Antonio City Council as the official band of the Alamo City on September 4, 1986. The Band consists of all volunteer musicians, representing a wide variety of professions.

The purpose and mission statement to this symphonic band is, “To provide a performance medium for musicians, both professional and amateur, thereby promoting a greater knowledge and appreciation of the great wealth of wind music available. A second, but equally important purpose, is to bring the joys of music through a performance to a wide spectrum of listening audiences.” If you or someone you know is interested in joining their band, contact them at sanantoniosymphonicband@gmail.com

After this patriotic performance there will be only one more concert to wrap up the summer concert series performing July 7th, TLU Community Music Academy and Seguin High School Band.

Hamburgers, hotdogs, and sausage on a stick will be sold by the local boy scouts and the local girl scouts will be selling baked goods, all to fundraise for different troop activities and trips. The concerts will be on Sundays starting at 7:00 p.m. and end at 8:30 p.m. The family-friendly concerts are free and offers something for almost every musical taste. Bring a chair or blanket and sit back, relax, and enjoy!
