Seguin Brewing Company to host 2nd Annual Oktoberfest

Originated in Munich, Germany, Octoberfest is the largest beer festival in the world. Seguin Brewing Company is continuing a tradition of their own and bringing this celebration to Seguin on September 28 and 29.

They will close the block of 100 West Gonzales St for a fun filled street and beer hall festival. There will be brats, pretzels, games, stein holding contests and live German Oompah music. The event is family friendly and free to attend.

Reed Meisters, an all saxophone band playing authentic German polkas and waltzes, is scheduled to perform Friday night immediately after Mayor Don Keil’s toast. Owner Brian Wallace stated, “On Saturday we will have The Fritz Hodde band performing two sets, one at 3 p.m. and one more in the evening. This group is new to Oktoberfest this year and we are looking forward to their performance.”

In addition to the entertainment, the brewery will be hosting Masskrugstemmen, or beer stein holding. A test of endurance, Masskrugstemmen winners get bragging rights for the year.

Wallace encourages the public to come out and help celebrate, “Oktoberfest is a celebration of the coming of fall. It’s a great time to come enjoy time with friends and family. This event is rain or shine, so come out and have some fun with us.”

Along with their Oktoberfest brew, you can also choose from their various hand-crafted beers. Come out and enjoy this two-day celebration. #DrinkLocal #DrinkCraft
