Kids Day in the Park Becomes Drive Thru Event

Each year, Kids Day in the Park celebrates Seguin’s youngest citizens with a day full of fun, games, and information on services available to local families. Hosted by Connections Individual and Family Services, the goal of this event is to provide non-profit organizations the opportunity to share service information with families that may be in need of assistance, not to mention provide a safe and fun day for local children.

This year’s event will, naturally, look a bit different than previous years. Keeping the safety and health of everyone in mind, Connections has decided to make this year a drive-thru event.

In the safety of their own vehicles, families can drive through Central Park and stop at three different stations for goodies and information. Local schools have sent home a coloring page that the children of Seguin can turn in at one stop in exchange for a special prize, and families will get a goodie bag with treats and such at another. While supplies last, you will even get a small pumpkin to take home and enjoy!

Megan Dupree, the Outreach Coordinator at Connections, is excited to provide a fun day for families in the Seguin Area. Connections and their team of sponsors and volunteers are working hard to make sure it is an exciting and informative day for local families.

In addition to inviting families out, Dupree invited businesses to get involved, “We are accepting promotional items from businesses and we will be thanking all sponsors publicly.”

So, mark your calendars for October 17th in Seguin’s Central Park from 10 am to 2 pm. Vehicles will enter the drive through by turning onto South River Street from Court Street. We hope to see all the families of Seguin there! For more information on Connections Individual and Family Services, visit their website at www.connectionsifs.org or call (830) 629-6571.
