It’s a Great Day to Be a Kid!

Central Park will be filled with kids of our community on Saturday, October 19. Connections is scheduled to host their 11th annual Kids Day in the Park from 10am-2pm. This event is all about having a fun-filled day of entertainment, arts and crafts, informative and activity booths, food booths and much more. While this event is all about having fun, it is also about informing the public about Connections and other family services in Seguin.

Connections Individual and Family Services is a private, non-profit organization founded by a group of community leaders to provide safe care to at-risk youth. This organization was founded in New Braunfels, but they are a growing organization stressing the importance of child safety, youth empowerment, and family connections. Their mission is to strengthen communities, one youth and one family at a time.

Megan Dupree, their outreach coordinator, is excited for this years Kid’s Day in the Park and knows that Connections will make a positive mark on the families of Seguin once again. “We are beyond excited to be back in the park again and as always we are bringing some fun activities with us! We will have a rock-climbing wall and a bounce house for kids. Food and snacks will be available for purchase and Kona Ice will be there with snow cones to purchase. A local 4H chapter will be there with farm animals and the Schertz Animal Center will have adoptable animals. All booths there will have some sort of activity for kids. We are also distributing coloring sheets to all the schools and kids that bring those to the event will receive a free cotton candy!”
