Fall Trade Days Returns

Every fall the Seguin Main Street hosts its Fall Trade Days held in conjunction with Seguin’s Pecan Fest. Due to COVID-19, much of the traditional Pecan Fest events will not be occurring, but Trade Days will be returning with some additional safety precautions.

“While we are sadden that much of Pecan Fest will not be able to occur, like the Hats Off to Juan Seguin Pub Crawl, historic property tours and more; we are extremely glad that we were able to develop a plan to host the Fall Trade Days safely,” said Kyle Kramm, Main Street & CVB Director, “We will have a variety of vendors set up around Central Park selling home goods, yard décor, jewelry, and more. Additionally, some of our pecan vendors will be returning to Trade Days.”

On Saturday, October 24 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., over 60 vendors will be set up around Central Park. This is about half the number of vendors that normally are in Central Park. The reduction in vendors will allow for additional spacing between the vendors.

In addition to the reduction in the number of vendors, other safety precautions include hand sanitizer stations placed throughout the area, all vendors and guests will need to wear masks, all food will need to be consumed while stationary in the dining area, one family unit per picnic table, increased sanitization of common spaces and one customer inside each vendor space.

In addition to the vendors, the Seguin Art League will have a wet paint sale featuring Seguin landmarks painted the day before. Additionally, the public can vote on their favorite piece. The artwork will be set up in front of their building at 104 South Austin Street.

If you do not get your fill of shopping at the downtown vendors and merchants, be sure to head to the Big Red Barn for even more vendors. Once done with shopping stick around for the antique tractor pull at the barn.

In the evening the fun continues with a drive in concert at Teatro de Artes featuring Santiago Jimenez Jr and Conjunto Cats. Purchase tickets at https://vivaseguin.eventbrite.com.

Plan on coming out to enjoy the fall weather in downtown and having some safe, family fun. We look forward to hosting the normal big Pecan Fest celebration in October 2021. For more information, visit www.seguingonuts.com.
